For some reason Microsoft didn't include the backup software in the install of XP home, whereas XP Pro does have it. So this month I will show you how to install that handy utility.
For those of you who bought version of XP Home follow these basic instructions.
Insert the CD Rom
Navigate to "CD:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP"
Double-click the file "Ntbackup.msi"
Follow the wizard and let it complete.
Windows Backup is now installed.
For those of you who got XP Home pre-installed on their computer follow these basic instructions.
Run the file ntbackup.msi from its download location.
Follow the wizard and let it complete.
Windows Backup is now installed.
You can now open the program by clicking on "Start, Accessories, System Tools then Backup"
