Online gamers given the chance to compete for a share of 30,000 Euros in cash prizes

Jolt today announced the opening of sign-ups for the official online qualifiers of the European Online Gaming Championships (EOGC). With the main event taking place in a dedicated LAN arena at this year's brand-new Game Stars Live show and a prize fund of 30,000 Euros waiting to be shared among the winners, competition will be fierce to claim top dog position across a variety of multiplayer titles covering several popular genres.

For the blood-thirsty killers, the first-person shooter tournaments range from the World War II based Call of Duty to the modern-day classic Counter-Strike, and on to the futuristic favourite Unreal Tournament 2004. Aspiring commanders can flaunt their military might with firm-favourites Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour and Warcraft III: Frozen Throne. The overall winners of these competitions can expect to collect sums ranging from 2,000 to 7,500 Euros - with substantial rewards for those who make it to the final stages of each competition.

Spaces are limited at this exclusive event and participation is largely invitation only for Europe's top clans and players. Those not automatically invited have the chance to earn their place by competing in the Jolt-hosted qualifiers for Call of Duty, Counter-Strike and Unreal Tournament 2004. Not only will the winners of these qualifiers be able to take-part in the EOGC however, because Jolt will also be providing them with a complementary clan server to hone their skills on. Gamers wishing to participate are urged not to delay and sign-up at

David Angus, Jolt's Community Manager and head of tournaments said of the qualifiers, "We're once again delighted to be hosting a range of tournaments that give everyday gamers the opportunity to win great prizes and take their place amongst the gaming elite. This time they'll be able to do so in person at the highest profile gaming event ever to take place in the UK."
